National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)

Overview

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is U.S. Department of Energy's primary national laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development.

Challenge

Every year NREL organizes an Industry Growth Forum which is widely recognized as the premier investor venue for the clean energy industry. The forum includes a business plan competition where major corporate partners rate the submitted business plans on various parameters. The participants get international exposure for their ideas and often raise capital as a result of their participation.

Solution

BelWo Inc is very proud to be associated with NREL in their Industry Growth Forum Initiative. In association with program managers at NREL, we designed the website to address the needs of different user groups. Members of media and general public use the information on website to know more about the Initiative. Presenters use the business plan section to submit their applications. More than 50 representatives from venture firms, major energy companies, government etc login as reviewers in the rating system designed by BelWo for the forum. NREL administrators use the system to run reports, qualify the applications and compute the results.

Results

As with every customer, BelWo worked hard to make it easy for NREL to accommodate last minute changes. Website was live on schedule and provides a mission critical experience to all users. All requests to customer service are resolved within the agreed service level agreement (SLA). Above all, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) continues to be a valued customer for BelWo Inc.

Center for Economic Growth (CEG)

Overview

The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is a private, not-for-profit; membership based economic and business development organization committed to visionary, regional economic expansion throughout New York State’s Capital Region.

Challenge

In order to promote the Capital district it was necessary to have a network to connect the various resources and services provided by local companies. The result was the creation of an online resource, TechnologyRoadmap.com. Local companies could create a profile, receive inquiries for someone searching for a particular technology, participate in discussion boards on local issues etc.

CEG was looking for a technology partner to keep the website up to date with programming, content development and support.

Solution

BelWo Inc brought its expertise in understanding business requirements and converting them to functional programmed websites. Working along with the program managers at CEG, the functionality of the website was defined, implemented and made available for the companies in the capital district area.

Making use of the improvements of technology, BelWo used Google Maps API to graphically show the proximity of business to capital district locations.

Results

BelWo Inc is very proud to be associated with CEG and continues supporting their business initiatives with technology solutions. Any requests to customer service are resolved professionally within the agreed service level agreement (SLA).

RPI E*ntrepreneurship Initiative

Overview

RPI is one of the best known technical universities in North-East with emphasis on Entrepreneurship. Over the last 184 years RPI graduates have excelled in creating trendsetting companies locally and globally.

Challenge

Keeping their focus in mind, RPI created an office of Vice Provost of Entrepreneurship to involve students and faculty with entrepreneurship initiatives world over. Rob Chernow, the Vice Provost of Entrepreneurship, conceptualized a series of lectures, workshops, events, competitions to promote the cause of entrepreneurship in the student community. The initiative required an internet presence and a tech partner with experience in bringing it to life.

Solution

BelWo worked with the office of Rob Chernow and RPI Media Planning to lay the foundation of the Entrepreneurship (ESHIP) campaign with the web presence of Rock the World Concert. In following semesters we followed up the offline initiatives with a portal showcasing the lectures, workshops, events, registration and schedules, videos and results, speaker and alumni bios, case studies, school details, faculty sections and other secured sections.

Results

The University President saw ESHIP website as a very strong resource for promoting the entrepreneurship and encouraged the faulty to develop their own sections and modules on the website.

Overview

Promoters of PharmaServe have managed complex licensing deals for major pharmaceutical companies globally. During these deals they came up with patented method of getting both parties agreements via online tools.

Challenge

They were looking for tech partner who could implement their patented method into a web based application.

Solution

BelWo worked with Dr. Ron Kudla and John Crawford in understanding their patented method and defined a web work flow for the negotiations. The system is capable of multiple logins and a simultaneous negotiation of the contract and its elements between the parties in reference. The application records the history of the changes made and allows the parties to accept or reject the points of conflict thereby finalizing the terms of contract with digital signatures.

Results

The e2agree negotiation platform created by BelWo enabled the clients to market themselves to the Industry associations as a potential online negotiation tool.

My Celery

Overview

Celery service lets people send and receive email without a computer or Internet connection. The system designed to convert handwritten letters into email and deliver auto-printed email and color photos.

Challenge

Company was struggling to ramp up their customer service and routing for the upcoming holiday season. Also, since their service promises 24x7 availability, they were required to staff during the night shift which was proving to be a scalability bottleneck.

Solution

BelWo offered a scalability solution to Celery where by the routing and the customer service is handled by BelWo’s operators certified on Celery work Flows.

Results

Celery is looking forward to this holiday season confident that scalability will not be an issue with BelWo by its side.
